Pet Portraits
My favourite thing to do in life is to paint, and I just love dogs (and all animals really), in fact, my best friend is a blonde cockapoo called Piper (who loves to be painted all the time!)

I create all my commission paintings in either watercolour or acrylic paint .
You can choose which type you would like!

Watercolour Pet Portraits
I paint my watercolour pet portraits onto Professional Watercolour Paper and mount them all with professional grade mounts to strengthen them and to make them even more beautiful. Once mounted the painting fits into a standard sized frame, so no expensive framing required either!

Watercolours tend to be looser and splishier (yes, that is now a word) than other styles of painting.  You can get beautiful flowing results in watercolour and I love these other any other type of painting!  They can give your pet portrait a soft and ethereal look which makes any pet look angelic (even if we know they're really not...)

Prices
I create my Watercolour portraits in 2 sizes
A4 (297 x 210mm) - £250
A3 (420 x 297mm) - £360
Please note that once the mount frame size is added then the finished piece is much larger

These prices are based on one subject per painting.
If you require more than one then we can discuss this at the time.

UK Postage is included (overseas can be arranged at additional cost)

Acrylic Pet Portraits

I paint my acrylic pet portraits onto box canvases which are usually around 1/2 inch deep, so there is no need to frame them (although you can of course have them framed if you wish)

These are generally done in one size
24 x 18 inches - £350
Although if you require a different size then I can accommodate that too, just ask

This price is based on one subject per portrait.  If you require more than one, then we can discuss this at the time.

UK Postage is additional £20. Overseas Postage can be arranged, please just let me know

Pet Portrait Enquiry Form

Thanks for submitting! I'll be in touch!

I have put together the process below to show how easy it is to book a commission with me...
STEP ONE:   Get in touch! Book your Pet Portrait or your Commission into my diary
Drop me a line on the contact form and we can get started!

STEP TWO:    Find your favourite photos
The best photos are the ones that are of high quality, for example where you are wanting a pet portrait, make sure you can clearly see your pet's eyes - the window to the soul...
HERE IS SOME IMPORTANT ADVICE ON PET PHOTOS!

STEP THREE:    We can agree how your painting can be done!

NEXT STEP
Once I have sight of your photos, I'll confirm with you how I would like to create your painting.

Portrait Backgrounds are usually painted with a plain neutral colour which is complementary to the subject. In other subjects, additional background images will need to be discussed during this stage and may incur cost depending on the complexity, but this would be agreed up front. There are no hidden costs, don't worry.

We can also discuss when I intend to start working on your commission painting, depending on my waiting list and when you need the painting.  I'll can also send you progress pictures if you would like.

I will usually post my completed picture on my Facebook page and on Instagram, but please let me know if it is a surprise for someone and I'll keep the finished picture a secret until you the portrait has been gifted.
I receive a high amount of pet portrait commissions, however I do take all sorts of commissions on (based on my work shown in my website) so if you have something that you'd like put into paint, just let me know!

FAQs

Deposits

I generally ask for a 50% deposit against your order.

Postage

All will be sent via Royal Mail 'signed for' service. UK Postage is free for watercolour paintings, and £20 for standard size acrylic paintings . Collection is available from my studio located to the north of Manchester.

Timescale

Once started, I tend to try to complete portraits within a month or so. However, the nature of painting means that sometimes they take longer than expected.  Don't worry though, once we have agreed a date, I'll stick to it (unless a catastrophe happens)

What if you don't like your picture!

I really want you to love it... I always send a photo of your finished portrait to you before I post it. At that point, I'm happy to make small reasonable adjustments prior to posting it out to you.  Once payment is made, I am unfortunately unable to offer a refund, as it is bespoke to you and therefore cannot be sold elsewhere.

Hopefully you have been able to get an idea of my style of painting work from my website, so you have an indication of the type of picture you will expect.  (Please note that pencil portraits are no longer available - the hours of sitting down to draw does not agree with my back...)
